Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, has an educational legacy of over 100 years. It serves as a prominent research, academic and cultural centre, focusing on talent development in South China.

Situated in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province and a key city in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the School of Business at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSBS) is among China's pioneering institutions dedicated to business administration education and research. Established in 1985, SYSBS has rapidly ascended to prominence, leveraging the cultural heritage and academic excellence of Sun Yat-sen University, earning recognition as a leading business school in China and globally.

SYSBS is committed to enriching students' experiences and advancing knowledge through a vibrant learning environment. Our mission involves integrating Chinese and Western management wisdom with a foundation in integrity, innovation and social responsibility. SYSBS holds the distinction of being the first business school in South China and the second nationwide to achieve accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

SYSBS offers two major academic disciplines:

1. Business Administration

2. Management Science and Engineering

The two disciplines have garnered significant recognition in recent years:

In 2020, both earned an "A+" rating in the Times Higher Education China Subject Ratings.

Business Administration, recognized as a first-level national key discipline and a Guangdong provincial key discipline, achieved an "A+" rating in the national discipline evaluation. It was also included in the "Double First-class" construction discipline training plan of the Ministry of Education in 2022.

Business Administration has consistently held the title of the Best Discipline in China according to the Shanghai Ranking since 2019. Additionally, it received an A+ rating for all programs and direction modules in the "Best Chinese Majors Ranking" for three consecutive years since 2020.

Situated in Guangzhou, a core city within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the capital of Guangdong Province, SYSBS enjoys a strategic location on the international stage.

The GBA stands out as a region characterized by high openness, a robust economy and strategic importance within China. Guangzhou, leveraging its regional advantages, actively harnesses the potent economic force, innovation power and advanced engagement with international businesses inherent in this dynamic world-class city cluster. The Canton Fair, inaugurated in spring 1957 and hosted biannually in Guangzhou, serves as a global platform for supply chain activities. According to reports, the 134th Canton Fair's offline exhibitions concluded with an export turnover of USD 22.3 billion, while online visits to the Fair reached 7.89 million, with 6.6 million being overseas visitors. Guangzhou is actively planning to create the world's first comprehensive infrastructure for the cross-border e-commerce industry. This initiative aims to facilitate easy access for enterprises to resources in this field from around the globe.

Guangzhou, also known as "Yangcheng" or “City of Flowers”, is renowned for its high liveability. Guangzhou's appeal lies in its harmonious mix of modern amenities and cultural richness. Residents enjoy a well-planned urban environment, efficient public services and a variety of authentic food from all over the world. This commitment to quality living has established Guangzhou as a highly desirable and comfortable home.

The MBA Program at SYSBS was established in 1998. Over the past two decades, more than 6000 business elites have graduated from the program.

Our commitment is to nurture global strategic entrepreneurs and professional managers capable of thriving in the competitive landscape of globalization. We achieve this through a mixture of rigorous academic standards and practical soft skills. The triple international accreditation, AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA, effectively guarantees the enrolment requirements of the Program, as well as faculty qualifications and teaching management.

In recognition, The Economist consistently ranked SYSBS as the best Full-time MBA program in the world's Top 100 list from 2016 to 2022, solidifying our global standing as the only selected business school in mainland China.
